Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about Cults Library Trust.

When Cults Library closed in 2023, it marked the loss of far more than a building. For many people across Cults, Bieldside, Milltimber and Lower Deeside, the library had long been a place of learning, connection and quiet support. Its closure was deeply felt, but it also revealed something powerful: the strength of feeling within the community and the shared belief that this space still has an important role to play in our local life.

Cults Library Trust was formed in response to that belief. We are a community-led charity, driven by local residents who are committed to reopening the library and securing its future for generations to come. Our aim is not simply to restore what was lost, but to create a modern, welcoming and inclusive space that meets the needs of our community today and into the future.

We believe libraries matter. They support literacy and lifelong learning, provide access to knowledge and opportunity, and offer a safe, welcoming environment where people of all ages can come together. As Chair of the Trust, I am proud of the dedication, professionalism and care shown by our trustees, volunteers and supporters as we work towards this shared goal.

This is an ambitious project, and it will take time, partnership and continued community support. But with that support, I am confident that Cults Library can once again become a thriving hub at the heart of our area.

Thank you for your interest in Cults Library Trust, and for being part of this journey with us.
