Our Vision

At Cults Library Trust, our vision is to create a thriving, sustainable library and community hub that serves the people of Cults and the wider Lower Deeside area. We believe that libraries are more than just buildings—they are spaces that bring people together, support learning, and enhance wellbeing.

Our vision is built around three key pillars:

1. Community: A Hub for Connection & Wellbeing

We want Cults Library to be a welcoming, inclusive space where people of all ages can connect, engage, and feel a sense of belonging. Our vision for the library includes:

• A place for social interaction to help tackle loneliness and bring people together.

• A venue for community events, clubs, and activities to encourage engagement and participation.

• A flexible space available for local groups, charities, and businesses to use for meetings, workshops, and creative initiatives.

• A warm and friendly environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

2. Education: A Centre for Lifelong Learning

Cults Library will be a place where people of all ages can develop new skills, explore ideas, and foster a love of learning. Our plans include:

• Early years and children's literacy programmes, helping to develop a strong foundation for young readers.

• Support for students and lifelong learners, offering quiet study spaces and digital resources.

• Workshops and classes on a range of topics, from creative writing to digital skills and local history.

• Partnerships with schools, universities, and community organisations to enhance learning opportunities.

3. Library: A Modern, Accessible & Sustainable Resource

At its heart, our vision is to re-establish a fully functioning library, providing access to books, digital resources, and essential services. This includes:

• A diverse and regularly updated book collection, catering to all ages and interests.

• A digital hub with access to Wi-Fi, computers, and printing facilities.

• A comfortable and inspiring reading space, perfect for quiet study or relaxation.

• A financially sustainable model through membership, sponsorship, and grant funding, ensuring the library remains a resource for generations to come.
