Charitable Status Granted
Exciting News: The Cults Library Trust is Officially Established!
The closure of several libraries across Aberdeen was a significant loss for our communities. However, today marks a major step forward in our efforts to reopen one of them - Cults Library. With our newly granted charitable status from OSCR, Scotland's Charity Regulator, we are now preparing to submit our full and final Community Asset Transfer request. This brings us closer to restoring Cults Library as a vital community-based educational facility.
David Laing, Chairperson commented "As Chair of the newly founded Cults Library Trust, I am incredibly optimistic about the future. I look forward to working closely with local partners, supporters, and Aberdeen City Council to bring this project to
life. If you're passionate about community, education, and the power of libraries, we'd love to have you involved. Please feel free to reach out!"
Board Position Available - Education Portfolio
We are now looking for an additional person to join our board. Our board is comprised of people with a wide range of skills and expertise, holding different portfolios. We are now looking for members of the board with experience working in the education sector to fill the new education portfolio. This voluntary role gives the perfect opportunity to get involved and shape the future of the library.
Public Consultation Launched
The primary goal of the public consultation is to gather the views of everyone across the community to guide the redevelopment of Cults Library.
By understanding what the community needs, prefers, and suggests, together we can create a welcoming and functional space that serves everyone, acrosss all generation within the community.
